Emorie

Emorie is such a sweet little girl. Oh, how I almost can't bear to say that as she is not really a baby anymore and is indeed a little girl. She is so adorable and we thoroughly enjoy hearing the compliments when people will walk up to us and tell us how cute she is. Really, she is cute and her little personality only adds to that (most of the time). We love the sound of her voice because it is so cute too. If only we could get her to talk more. We are starting to realize that she has even more of a "stubborn nature" than Karter does. Emorie CAN say more words than she utilizes on a daily bases. She must be in her own little in-between stage of baby talk and toddler talk. She can say "Burpie, Blanket, Bear" but when told to say them she will say "B". We call it her lazy talk. She does the same with other words too (milk="M", mine="M", etc). There's a little voice inside me that knows she will start talking eventually and to not push the issue but it can still be frustrating sometimes. Rylie and Karter were talking in sentences at this age!
So as cute as she can be, she can still be QUITE a challenge on a daily basis (typical toddler behavior). She will only play with her toys if you are sitting near her. Once you leave the play area, she is a little shadow that gets into everything she shouldn't. Unfortunately she has two older siblings that don't always put things away and she finds things she shouldn't have. She loves to shut doors. She especially likes to run into a room, shut the door behind her and lock it. Seems funny, yes, but it's not because she's either getting into something she shouldn't or she's upset because she's locked into a dark area and can't get the door open. When she starts out she is giggling, knowing she's doing something she shouldn't!
Alright, now the physical aspects of Emorie. She is just shy of being 23 months old and she only weighs in at 20 pounds. Which still isn't even on the "growth chart"(It's only half-way through the weight recommendation for the size 3 diapers she wears. Some people I know with babies under a year old are already getting too big for the size 3's.) It's not that we don't feed her! She is healthy and that is all that matters.

Emorie is starting to display her sensitivity to wearing a soiled diaper. She tells us when she needs a new diaper so it seems that we are approaching a new exciting and dreaded phase.... POTTY TRAINING. Doesn't she look so teeny on the huge thing. We bought her a potty chair ring a couple of days ago but her little bottom is SO little that she still falls through.

She REALLY likes to go for walks with mom. Now that it has gotten colder and darker, we don't go as frequently as we used to and she begs to go. We'll have to work on that one and try hard to get out despite the weather.
