On October 6th we took the kiddos to what we thought was going to be a "pumkin patch." Well, there WERE pumkins but they hadn't grown there and we still paid a lot for them. Oh well, we tried, but we will go somewhere else next fall. So we played for a while on the rolls of hay, looked at some animals (turkeys, bunnies, a donkey, and some piglets), went on a hayride, and went through the corn maze. Before we left the kids each picked their own pumkin. 
Afterwards, we were driving down a country road and Janelle saw a sign for a "Pirate miniature golf." Okay, so we were going 60mph and by the time the van came to a stop we were almost past the sign with the rocks flying behind us from the quick stop. So, it wasn't a planned thing but since we didn't have quite as much fun as we had hoped (the kids didn't feel jipped, just us old folks) and since Karter is SO into pirates right now, we stopped. We had fun. They even had a club just the right size for Emorie. There was a couple of times that she couldn't figure out where her ball had gone when it dropped through a tube to another putting green. After gold we topped it off with a trip to "Dips-n-Sips" for an ice-cream cone. Karter made a comment about this being one of our best "vacations". (Go figure, we spend a lot of money on "real vacations" and he says this was one of the best.)
