Kids and Their Buddies

While he likes being liked by all the kids, Karter's really a "one true friend" kind of kid. He was pretty upset when we moved but once he met Daniel he was quite okay with our new home. The two of them are like two peas in a pod.

Unfortunately, they don't get to play together as often as they would like because Daniel goes to after-school care and Sundays are not play days for our family. So they get together when time does allow outside of school. They are in the same class so they eat lunch together and play at recess everyday. Daniel was sick for most the week a couple weeks ago and Karter's teacher's aide told me that Karter was just miserable without Daniel. A couple of days ago Daniel's mom called and invited Karter down to their house for a short playdate because Daniel was begging to play with Karter. Aaron told me it was funny as he drove home from work he saw kids hanging out of the trees at Daniel's house, kind of like in The Sound of Music. Upon closer inspection he saw that it was his own son! (Daniel just lives a few houses away from us.)

Of course the boys love Monster Trucks so when I saw one parked at an Grand Opening for a local store I had to ask Daniel's sitter if I could snag him for a short while to take the boys to see the truck. Then I saw an ad for the Monster Truck Rally so I bought them tickets to go. Aaron took the boys and they had a great time... but it was loud despite the earplugs!

I'm so glad Karter has a good friend!

Rylie is a little different in that she enjoys the company of whoever she can play with. She does have one "best friend" though. She met Isabella in school and they are in the same class. They are so cute together. The sad thing is that Isabella will be leaving in two months. Her family was just here for the year while her dad attended a military course at Aaron's school.

It will be a devastating day when the family leaves as Rylie will be VERY emotional and will probably cry the week before and after they leave. Fortunately, Rylie loves everyone and will make a new good friend.
