Karter's front teeth were a bit loose even before his big accident in September so the accident had nothing to do with it. These teeth were so stubborn thought. They would seem really loose one day and the next they might not be so loose. Then there were days that they seemed to be turning gray but then they were back to their normal color. We just didn't get it. So, for over three months we've been waiting for them to be loose enough to pull. His permanent teeth must have been pushing them out because he was become quite "buck toothed" and it hurt to eat hard things like apples.
During the kids' dentist appointment we discussed these teeth with the dentist and she agreed to pull them (Karter's request). When asked why he wanted them out he said there were four reasons. 1. He wanted the Tooth Fairy to come 2. He wanted to look like his friend, Daniel 3. He wanted to be recognized at school (they give stickers and put your name on the "I lost a tooth board". --- of course his last reason: 4. It hurts to eat hard things. SILLY BOY!!!
Karter's was lain back and able to watch Madagascar while they were pulled. As they started numbing him he told the dentist that he changed his mind --- too late now. I guess he got a little scared and having a needle stuck into your gums isn't exactly a comfortable feeling!
Okay... so he wanted the Tooth Fairy to come but then he changed his mind. He wanted her to bring him something but he didn't want to give his teeth to her. He put his tooth container in his nightstand instead of on it because he wasn't ready to let them go. Sometime during the night he woke up and changed his mind. He even went through the house and turned on all the lights to let the Tooth Fairy know that he'd waken up and changed his mind.
